Aunt Lydia's Handmaid's Tale Sequel Comes To Disney+ This Month

Gilead's next chapter is nearly here.

Disney+ is taking viewers back with new iterations of some older favorites in April 2026. Most notably, a couple of beloved shows are getting sequels and revivals this month, including the long-awaited follow-up to The Handmaid’s Tale, as well as the chance to revisit America’s most dysfunctional family after two decades away in Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair. Throw in a buzzy Marvel series and the trippy new movie from a Stranger Things alum, you’ve got a full month of can’t-miss entertainment with Disney+.

This April, the best way to get everything Disney+ has to offer is through the streamer’s Hulu bundle. With the surprisingly affordable add-on, you’ll be able to tune into the three-season premiere of The Testaments, which takes places about four or five years after The Handmaid’s Tale’s finale (a change from Margaret Atwood’s novel, which is set 15 years later). The new show will see Aunt Lydia running a school for the children of Gilead’s elite, with buzzy actors like Chase Infiniti and Rowan Blanchard starring.

Another highlight is Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair. The four-episode revival series will bring the sitcom family together again 20 years after the original show’s 2006 finale.
