Khloé K Just Announced Khloud Protein Chips & I Got To Try Them All
“There’s really a flavor for whatever mood you’re in,” she tells Elite Daily.
Khloé Kardashian is taking her protein snack brand to the next level. After successfully launching a lineup of popcorn flavors that includes white cheddar and dill pickle, the entrepreneur is expanding Khloud to include chips as well.
The launch of Khloud Protein Chips features three flavors: nacho, buffalo, and one dubbed Sweet Heat. “There’s really a flavor for whatever mood you’re in or whoever you’re sharing with,” says Kardashian. The Good American cofounder tells Elite Daily the flavor she’s grabbing the most right now is Sweet Heat. “I’m always craving something with a little kick,” she says.
The other two flavors are equally popular in her home. “My daughter [True] loves the classic nacho, and my son [Tatum] is all about buffalo,” Kardashian says.
Since I’m such a fan of Khloud’s protein popcorn, I was eager to try the brand’s chips to see where they rank among the rest. Below, you’ll find my honest review of the three debut flavors so you can decide whether to grab a bag (or three) when they officially launch on April 8.
Nacho Is A Doritos Dupe
Out of the three flavors, the nacho is the most traditional. It reminded me so much of Doritos’ Nacho Cheese flavor that I was an immediate fan and couldn’t put the bag down.
The only real difference is the texture of the chip. It’s crunchy at first, but then gets a bit grainy. (I assume this is from the pea protein, which is what delivers the 7 grams in each serving.) It’s not bad, unless you are very sensitive to food textures.
If I had to compare it to something, I’d say these chips reminded me of roasted pea snacks, and the graininess is something you have to get used to like the powdery milk protein isolate Khloud Dust on the popcorn. Once you’re adjusted, I can assure you they’re delicious. I agree with True, nacho is the best flavor.

Buffalo Really Brings The Heat
If you’re someone who finds Hot Cheetos to be mild, you may want to try the buffalo flavor for some real spice. This delivered on the heat.
I’m a big buffalo sauce fan, though, so I was a bit let down that this didn’t taste the same as ordering wings at a restaurant. It was mostly just hot with a bit of vinegar and paprika notes. I’ll probably stick to the mild nacho flavor in the future, which is better for my acid reflux anyway.

Sweet Heat Is Like A Hot Honey
The Sweet Heat really does deliver on its name. The flavor is super sweet going in, and has a lingering spice that kicks in at the end. It reminded me of a hot honey or the Hunter Sauce in McDonald’s limited-time KPop Demon Hunters meal.
It is just a bit *too* sweet IMO, and there was something about the aftertaste that felt too grainy for me to really enjoy. My mind was fully aware I was eating a healthier, protein chip the entire time, whereas the nacho was tasty enough that I forgot. Sooo, needless to say, it wasn’t my favorite of the bunch.

TL;DR: I’m More Of A Popcorn Girl... For Now
I’m such a fan of Khloud’s protein popcorn that these chips missed the mark for me. However, I really did love the nacho flavor once I got used to the protein chip texture, and can’t wait to share a bag with my friends to see their reactions.
I’m hoping this is just the beginning for the chip flavors and that, just like Khloud’s popcorn, they come out with more options later like a salt and vinegar or truffle white cheddar. A girl can dream.
All three flavors are available to shop in-stores and online at Target starting April 8, and on Khloud Foods beginning April 21.
