Swifties are about to enter a new era when Taylor Swift releases The Life of a Showgirl on Friday, Oct. 3. The 12th studio album from the Tortured Poets singer was announced on Instagram at 12:12 p.m. on Aug. 12 alongside Spotify orange and green billboards in Times Square with a link to a curated playlist.

Swift also appeared on fiance Travis Kelce’s podcast, New Heights, to talk about the record produced with Max Martin and Shellback, while dropping a few Easter eggs along the way. Some Swifties were able to discern a few clues left behind, like the four albums on the shelves representing the Showgirl variants. However, there are still mysteries to be solved, and Spotify is giving you a chance to witness a few more Easter eggs before the album’s release.

Similar to the platform’s The Tortured Poets Department library activation in Los Angeles in April 2024, Spotify now has a The Life of a Showgirl pop-up before the record drops. This time, though, New York City fans are getting a chance to take pics and check out Swift-approved clues.

For anyone in the NYC area, here is everything you need to know about The Life of a Showgirl Spotify experience before you go:

When Does Taylor Swift’s Showgirl Pop-Up Open?

Spotify

The immersive The Life of a Showgirl: A Spotify Experience is open for Swifties in NYC to visit from Tuesday, Sept. 30, through Thursday, Oct. 2. The hours of the three-day pop-up are 12 p.m. to 9 p.m. daily. Entry is on a first-come, first-served basis, so you’ll definitely want to get there early.

Lines at the Los Angeles pop-up at The Grove got to be over three hours long, so be prepared to wait and bring along a phone charger, water bottle, and anything to help you pass the time. You could even listen to Swift’s entire discography as you wait to help you prepare for her next album era.

Where Is Taylor’s Showgirl Pop-Up Located?

At 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Spotify announced that the pop-up is located at High Line Nine, an event space in the West Chelsea neighborhood of Manhattan.

The Easter Eggs & Photo Ops Are Aplenty

Unlike the TTPD experience, the activation is for all fans and not just the top listeners. Swift will also *not* be in attendance, but the space does include Showgirl-inspired photo moments and tons of Easter eggs.

Some of the clues left behind in the TTPD pop-up included a typewriter referenced in “The Tortured Poets Department” and the notebook with “us” on the front from the “Fortnight” music video. It’s possible some of the items in the experience are from “The Fate of Ophelia” music video, which will premiere in the The Official Release Party of a Showgirl film in theaters, starting Oct. 3.

A few very clear nods to the TLOAS tracklist are the pics of Swift with Sabrina Carpenter — who’s featured on the eponymous last track, “The Life of a Showgirl” — a copy of The Book of Ophelia (“The Fate of Ophelia”), and multiple instances of opal jewelry (“Opalite).

Other, not-as-obvious clues seem to rest in a couple of tiny violins (what could these mean??), a handful of “Case 13” boxes (a surprise 13th track?!), plus a few mirrors with words written across them in lipstick, which one Swiftie believes to be a nod to Elizabeth Taylor, the name of the second track because she, too, wrote on a mirror with lipstick. As for the words written on them, some are believed to be album lyrics, while one phrase, “Keep It 100,” seems to be a shoutout to Travis Kelce because 13 (Swift’s lucky number) plus 87 (Kelce’s jersey number) equals 100.

To visit the pop-up, you don’t need tickets and arriving early is highly recommended, so be ready to get the showgirl on the road ASAP.
