Laili Shahrestani

Laili Shahrestani is an editorial and social intern at BDG, where she works closely alongside the Lifestyle & Parenting brands, such as Bustle, Elite Daily, Scary Mommy, NYLON and The Zoe Report.

Laili recently graduated from Manhattan University with her Bachelor of Arts in communication, with a concentration in journalism and a minor in psychology. During her time as a college student, Laili served as the editor-in-chief of The Quadrangle, Manhattan University’s student newspaper, where she reported on various topics, like campus news and arts and entertainment. Laili was also elected as the recipient of the “2026 Achievement in Journalism Award” — an award granted to one student studying within the Department of Communication, who has exemplified outstanding performance and work ethic when it comes to the practice of journalism. Additionally, during her time on campus, Laili also served as the head lifestyle & opinions editor of LOTUS Magazine.

Laili was born and raised in warm and sunny Orange County, California, which she feels plays a big role into her now “bi-coastal” identity. Outside of the newsroom, you can find her spending time with her cats, cooking, trying out new coffee shops and going on scenic hikes.
